It was once a popular resort for Colombo's colonial residents and earned the sobriquet 'Richmond of Ceylon', because of it's similarity to the Thames side of town.

	Bentota Bentota is 62km from Colombo and boasts a large water sports complex. Arrangements can be made for guests to snorkel, dive, jet-ski, windsurf or take a boat trip. Several excellent 5* hotels can be found on the coast here and arrangements can be made for guests to spend a day at their beach side location.

Galle Galle is the quiet port town capital of the southern province. An authentic historical colonial atmosphere is intact in the old Forte where evidence of the Portugese and Dutch influence can be seen. Day trips are available and can be arranged to visit either the old forte or museums.
